Though His name is conspicuously absent from this story, the Lord is nonetheless this book's main character.  Though His people had forgotten Him, the Lord remains faithful.  Though Satan relentlessly endeavors to thwart God's promises and destroy His people, the Lord remains completely in control.  Throughout the book of Esther, His sovereign hand is unmistakably responsible for what some might credit luck or chance, but as Proverbs 16:33 teaches: The lot is cast into the lap, But its every decision if from the LORD.  The Lord controls everything for His purpose.  Under the Lord's sovereign hand, there are no coincidences.
